Redline and Siemens collaborate on fixed and mobile WiMAX interoperability
Siemens among first WiMAX equipment vendors to participate in Redline Ecosystem Verification™ program
TORONTO, ON – August 30, 2007 - Redline Communications Inc., a leading provider of standards-based WiMAX and broadband wireless infrastructure products, and Siemens Home and Office Communication Devices, to conduct private testing to verify interoperability between Redline and Siemens WiMAX Forum Certified™ products. The testing is part of the Redline Ecosystem Verification™ (‘REV’) program designed to accelerate the deployment of interoperable WiMAX networks.

The REV interoperability testing confirms that carriers can incorporate Redline’s RedMAX™ and Siemens WiMAX modem Gigaset SE471 and the outdoor modem Siemens 2010 in their WiMAX networks. The REV program augments the testing for WiMAX Forum Certification, verifying that carriers can achieve connectivity between Redline infrastructure and Siemens devices in their network and manage the devices.

The Redline Ecosystem Verification Program
The Redline Ecosystem Verification program verifies connectivity and performance between Redline’s RedMAX and RedMAX 4C Mobile WiMAX products and other WiMAX devices, enabling carriers to accelerating the deployment interoperable networks. The program also includes Redline’s RedCONNEX family, which is used by carriers around the world to support high-bandwidth voice, video and data services. Several WiMAX equipment companies including base station, customer premise equipment and chip manufacturers, as well as WiMAX peripherals vendors, are now taking part in the REV program.

Redline’s RedMAX™ Family
Redline’s RedMAX family of WiMAX solutions includes the world’s first complete system to receive the WiMAX Forum Certified™ mark for conformance to the WiMAX standards for performance and interoperability. Redline’s carrier-class RedMAX Base Station (AN-100U) supports voice, video, and prioritized data traffic, enabling long-range, high-capacity wireless broadband networks. Operating in the 2.5 GHz and 3.5 GHz spectrum bands, RedMAX 4C is designed to conform to the requirements for 802.16e Certification Wave 2, which is the WiMAX Forum’s official certification program for Mobile WiMAX. Supporting a high concentration of subscribers, it enables operators to realize a rapid return on their WiMAX investment, with a low total cost of ownership. The RedMAX 4C includes a modular, standardized µTCA (micro Telecommunications Computing Architecture) chassis base station that is small, lightweight and easy to deploy. RedMAX 4C will also include a suite of indoor and outdoor fixed and portable end-user devices including laptops, mobile handsets and PDAs.
