  • The ability to assemble and install the IDU and ODU system units.
  • The ability to align the RF link and perform link fine tuning and basic trouble shooting to mitigate interference and multi-path
  • An understanding of the operating parameters of Redline equipment in the context of wireless transmission of voice, video and IP data with the desired QoS.
  • The ability to perform basic  product configurations to ensure end-to-end data connectivity for user traffic streams
  • An understanding of the Integration of Redline network elements into customer networks.

Pre-Requisite:

The pre-requisite for the RCSA certification program is a working knowledge of RF propagation, antenna parameters, RF transmitters and receivers performance measures, PSK and QAM modulation schemes and a sound understanding of the TCP/IP network model with a focus on layer-2 and layer-3 devices.

The Curriculum:

  • Candidates attend a hands-on training session. The training session can be on customer site on customer demand or as scheduled by Redline.

OR

  • Candidates who have worked on Redline equipment under the supervision of a Redline Certified Expert and have been actively involved in the deployment and support of Redline equipment can write the RCSA exam provided the Redline Certified Expert certifies the candidate’s hands-on experience as satisfactory.

The Result:

  • Candidates will write an examination on the completion of the curriculum. Candidates who pass the exam based on the criteria set by Redline will receive RCSA certification. Those who do not pass the RCSA examination will receive a certificate of attendance.

The RCSA program is comprised of the following:

For RedMAX products:

RCSA-RedMAX
RCSA-RMS

For RedCONNEX products:

RCSA-50e
RCSA-80i

A customer who has successfully completed an RCSA program can proceed to the Redline Certified Support Professional (RCSP) level for the respective product without needing to attend further in-class training. However, RCSA certification is not a pre-requisite for RCSP certification.

Note: the RCSA course is currently offered on customer demand at a customer site.

Redline Certified Support Professional (RCSP)

The RCSP program is a higher level of certification which focuses on enabling trainees to acquire a subject matter expert level knowledge specializing in the RedMAX or RedCONNEX family of products, their underlying technologies, applicable standards and performance requirements.

The program is open only to Redline partners and customers.

Objective:

The primary objective of the RCSP program is to:

  • Enable attendees to acquire in-depth and SME level knowledge of the foundation technologies, operation, commissioning and maintenance of Redline products.
  • Enable attendees to support Redline equipment in the context of theory of operation, ability of handling differing traffic types and applications, configuring systems in a variety of deployment and traffic support situations and remote management.
  • Enable trainees to offer SME level support for performance issues on Redline equipment, in the field.
  • Perform advanced levels of fault isolation and troubleshooting, expert installation and performance fine tuning on Redline equipment.

Pre-requisite:

The pre-requisite for the RCSP certification program is a comprehensive understanding of the following subjects:

  • The OSI network model: TCP/IP protocol suite, working of routers, bridges, IP addressing, sub-netting and the working of VLAN systems.
  • Transmission components in the Transmit and Receive path of  a digital communications system.
  • Digital modulation schemes such as BPSK, QPSK, QAM, digital communications systems performance parameters such BER, PER, latency.
  • Radio Frequency (RF) Systems: Basic understanding of RF signal propagation as a function of signal frequency, path loss models, fading models, frequency selective nature of the wireless channel, channel delay spread and Doppler Effect.
  • Working of TDM systems – knowledge of E1/T1 systems

The Curriculum:

  • Candidates holding RCSA can complete the course requirements for RCSP certification on-line and through webinars that will be communicated by Redline. Candidates are advised to participate in product installation and support classes and to provide a certificate of completion.  Upon completion of these training activities and hands-on work experience, candidates will take the respective RCSP exam on-line.

OR

  • Candidates without RCSA certification can register for 4-day fast track RCSP classes.  Candidates with RCSA certification desiring to fast track their certification process can also register for the 4-day fast track classes.

The Result:

  • On completion of curriculum, candidates will write the RCSP examination. Those achieving a score of 75% or over in the RCSP examination will receive RCSP certification covering the respective product family. Candidates scoring above 50% but less than 75% in the RCSP examination will receive RCSA certification. Those scoring below 50% will receive a certificate of completion.
  • Candidates not achieving RCSP certification in the first examination will be advised by Redline on retaking the examination.

The RCSP program is comprised of the following:

For RedMAX products:

RCSP–RedMAX
RCSP-RMS

For RedCONNEX products:

RCSP-5080i
RCSP-5030
RCSP-50e
RCSP-30e
RCSP-80i

A candidate who has successfully completed the RCSP certification program can proceed to the Redline Certified Support Expert (RCSE) level for the respective product.

Note: The RCSP courses are offered on a monthly basis at the Redline Headquarters in Markham, Ontario, Canada. Additional sessions can be scheduled on customer demand at the Redline Headquarters or at a customer site.
Redline Certified Support Expert (RCSE)

The RCSE program is a specialized level of certification which focuses on enabling trainees to acquire a subject matter expert level knowledge either Redline’s RedMAX or RedCONNEX product families, their underlying technologies, applicable standards and performance requirements, network design, capacity and RF planning and cell design at the SME level.

The program is open only to Redline partners and customers.

Objective:

The primary objective of the RCSE program is to:
